Troop and Pack 127 November

2009 Update

Meetings are 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the Month. Next Meeting November 24, 2009 7:15-8:30.

Getting Healthy?  We hope so! Drink lots of water and wash those hands.

Popcorn Sales are done! 15 scouts from our Troop and Pack sold almost $8000 worth of popcorn, earning more than $2200 for our units. Cub Scouts beat Boy Scouts, selling $4239 to the Boy Scouts $3665. Thank you for all your hard work, and we hope you had a fantastic time.

Popcorn should arrive November 21, and will be available the afternoon of November 22nd and at our November 24th meeting so you can begin delivering popcorn. Please have all money collected and turned in to Eric by December 3rd.

Congratulations to our top sellers: Gabriel had the most number of orders (74), and $1174 in sales. Elliot had the highest total sales ($1318). John had the second highest total sales ($834) and the most cash received in advance ($459).

Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts had a fantastic time at the Cub Camp and Webelos Woods the past couple weekends. If you couldn’t make it, be sure to plan now for the Spring Cub Camp in March.

Upcoming Events for Scouts

Cub Scouts, keep practicing those Cub Scout essentials for your Bobcat badge. We’ll be moving on to other activities and badge requirements starting with the November 24th meeting.

Webelos Scouts, don’t miss our November 24th meeting, where we’ll complete work on our Citizenship requirement with a presentation by an elected official.

Boy Scouts Mark your calendars Camp Tres Ritos winter camping January 16-18, 2010.
*****$35 Registration due by our November 24th meeting****

Spring Cub Camp March 26-28 @ Camp Post. Open to 1-5th graders ($22) and parents ($17).

It is not too soon to plan for our 2010 summer camps. Camp Post (June 20-26), and/or Camp Tres Ritos (July 18-24). The fee is $175 per camper, per camp. Popcorn sales will help offset these costs, but start saving now, and encourage your Boy Scout to earn part of the cost of his camp experience.

A Note for Parents

Our units meet twice a month (with one or two non-meeting activity gatherings) in order to help prevent parent/guardian burn-out. Please consider setting aside an additional evening between meetings to work with your scout on the skills and activities you’ll find in his scout handbook. Your scout needs your time and assistance in order to advance appropriately and earn the greatest benefit from his scouting experience, and I am sure the extra time you spend helping your scout learn and grow will richly bless you also.
